About Tzofia

Tzofia Frieden-Smith is a Jewish-American artist, illustrator, and designer, living in New York City with her husband. Raised in Worcester, Massachusetts infused with frequent back and forth time living in Jerusalem, Tzofia draws inspiration from the contrast between the Jewish experience of diaspora communities and Jewish life within Israel.

Her work focuses on joy, movement, color, and texture through various mediums. Her work has been awarded by the Boston Globe and New York Times, and has found its place in the homes of collectors, shuls, and showings throughout Brooklyn; though creating work for collectors, galleries, and homes is her ultimate passion.

Art that explores the interactions between the physical and spiritual

I work with watercolor, acrylic, ink, collage, and digital tools in order to portray this movement between the body and soul. My work takes inspiration from botanicals, bodies of water, architecture, and my orthodox jewish faith; I am to blend these themes into work that creates a soulful and joyous experience that I hope will translate into your home.
